Established in ​1953

The Travis Rebel Band has a long, rich history and has been a constant presence in its surrounding community. We perform at every Rebel football game, often participate in parades around the city, and reach out to our feeder middle and elementary schools to encourage students participation in the arts.

Our Goal

While we are competitive and performing ensembles, our focus is not on the acquisition of trophies and namesake but the growth of our students. The practice of music, its creation, and its performance, requires of the students and directors a work ethic and attention to detail that promotes self and social-awareness, critical thinking, independent and peer-to-peer learning, professionalism, and a host of other healthy habits. Music is powerful and our aim is to harness its potential to bring out the best in our students.
